The Hornets will also have a total of three players rated 80+ in NBA 2K23, including their up-and-coming backcourt: At release, Charlotte opted for an 85 overall team rating. The Hornets are the 22nd best team in the league according to the new ratings for all 32 teams in NBA 2K23. If you’re curious as to who the Hornets’ top players might be, where their top players rank in the league, or which team positions in MyNBA Eras might need an upgrade, here’s everything you need to know about the new NBA 2K23 Hornets roster have to. Still, they’re a fun young team centered around their star LaMelo Ball. The Hornets have a solid backcourt, but their frontcourt could use some work. We break down the new NBA 2K23 rosters for all 32 NBA teams and take a closer look at the Charlotte Hornets in this guide. He gives us the ability to play fast when he’s at C or not lose much if he backs up PJ at the 4.NBA 2K23 is here, and that means hoopheads and casual NBA fans will have a season or so of debate to get started and more than a few Michael Jordan dunks to choreograph. I think there’s real reason to be excited about Kai Jones. Now the question is, can he take a leap forward offensively? He was incredibly reliable as a stretch PF from 3, his defense improved tremendously, he finished at the rim more (by actually trying finally) and the most important part of all is he came up clutch consistently on both ends of the floor which is not common for a young player. ![]() Speaking of PJ, I was down on him this time a year ago but I’ve completely changed how I look at him after this past season. We can still be a playoff team if LaMelo makes the expected jump and we get jumps from two of Kai/Bouk/PJ. I hope he becomes better defensively because he’s got ALL of the tools to do so. There is an expectation LaMelo will improve in year 3, which is where most players seem to make a jump if they are going to make a jump. There was a good chance he upped his 3pt % and defense which would’ve made us better. He took a jump last season that some saw coming based on how he ended the prior season. The thing that sucks the most about not having Miles is because of what he could’ve been this season. I think they’re waiting to see what happens with Miles before making any major moves. Defense evaporates when PJ is forced to play the 5, and it's not his fault. PJ Washington is best at the four, and personally, I am not a fan of the small ball play style especially come play-in, play-offs. He is the center of the future and will play the Gobert role and guard the paint when no one will. They don't understand the NBA level of defense yet, and rookies don't get respect nor the benefit of the doubt from refs. Williams will eventually be the starting center (IMO), but he can come off the bench for now because:Ĭenters generally struggle early on in their careers because they get picked on for fouls. He can maybe shoot the 3-ball (38% as a sophmore on few attempts) too, so it is possible he could space the floor. I think he can make a big leap this upcoming season. Of all the young guys, I am highest on Kai Jones and Mark Williams and their potential. Bouknight can definitely fill this role, but he hasn't had the opportunity to develop on the court, and now he's injured. Rozier can be a ball handler, but he should ideally be a 2 and focus on scoring. Hornets need a backup ball-handler (too bad Ish was traded) for the bench. Guard positions are an issue, so the FO needs to sign someone.
